It is important to point out that Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail are different. I have been using Windows Live Mail with JAWS for about two years now and apart from a short period when there were problems with JAWS I have had no trouble with it. I can also say that Windows Live Mail works well with NVDA, another free screenreader. I haven't used Thunder myself, but am led to believe that NVDA is the better free option.

Hi David. If I were you I would use Microsoft Outlook as ny email client. I was playing with Windows Mail for a while but I found that Jaws doesn't work very well with this application. It took me a good while to get used to Microsoft Outlook but now I love it.Another possibility is to use ThunderBird. It is more friendly than WindowsMail. It is important to point out that in order for these applications to work properly they require scripts. I don't know if the screen reader that you use has scripting built into it. I am sure it is something I am doing wrong and will continue to look for a solution. I don't know if I need to change a windows setting, if a pop-up menu is coming up blocking myspeech access, etc. Gordon, I am using the "Thunder" screenreader from screenreader.net. To you all, thanks for your interest. These are written predominantly for JAWS screen reader users but the overall information is of use to non-JAWS users also. http://vip.chowo.co.uk/jaws-guides/ Regards Gordon Atkinson----- Original Message ----- From: "McKerral, David" <David.McKerral@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <infotech@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, September 30, 2010 9:25 AM Subject: [infotech] Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail hello friends I wonder if you can help me?I have recently been given as a present Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail butas you can imagine as I used to work with Windows XP and Outlook Express Inow find myself on a steep learning curve.
