iam the new user.i am doing my mini project which shud implement the firewall

There was a long post by venu regarding this. I just want to add a few things.
I am assuming that you are gonna code in C. If so, man iptables would help you.
There exist APIs that will allow the user to set rules for iptables. If i am
not wrong, you can do the same using setsockopt(). Check out the man pages for
the same.
Can you throw some light on what do u mean by it shld be implemented in any
application .
