There are a good number of partition editors under GNU/Linux.
There is the standard fdisk program. A little more menu driven
(text-only) partitioning program is cfdisk. If you want to create
partitions without losing data consider using GNU parted. For
non-destructive partitioning of windows partitions try FIPS.
General tip: create the swap partition at the end. With my little
knowledge of harddisks and their physical organisation I think when the
swap is at the edge of the disk the access time would be faster and it
helps a lot when your machine is low on primary memory. so making swap
as the last partition might improve performance.
