Hi all,
I require a little help with certain matters.
(Actually i require a lot of help with many matters but as of now this will do.
Hope some of u can find some time to answer these.)
1.) Can anybody tell me how to do java in Linux (ie both Terminal or console
compiler and also an IDE. I have with me RHL 9). Do i need to download the sdk
for Linux or anything like that as in Windows.
2.) Where do set up the srm.conf file on my machine to view CGI scripts as web
page requests in my browser (Mozilla). I tried it in /etc/httpd/conf/ where the
file httpd.conf was available on my sytem and added my own file there with the
ScriptAlias tags but it did not work out.
3.) I tried doing PHP and it seemed to work under the console but when i did
some simple scripting in a web page and saved the file with a PHP extension and
used my browser the HTML part came up fine but there was no trace of the
scripting.
4.) Lastly can I use Oracle with PHP instead of MySQL & is Java scripting
possible under Linux.
5.) What exactly is a MIDI engine to be set up in KDE's Control Centre Sound
& Multimedia Settings. I am not able to play a midi file in my system which
plays fine in Winamp under Windows. But niether Kmidi or Timidity play it.
Thanx in advance.
3 cheers for OSS.
