Most newbies to GNU/Linux think that GNU/Linux is a M$ killer. The
idea of GNU/Linux, *BSDs and/or other free operating systems is that
people can choose a better alternative. And never was the intention
of killing BillG or M$ for that matter. It may be a side effect
People should be given a choice. IMO if you say all the computers
should be installed/pre-loaded with RedHat/Mandrake, you're once again
starting a monopoly.

I wanted to avoid taking sides on this issue, but I have a small point:
Half the people dont
know what GNU is and what it entitles them to do. Forget all this, they
havent even heard about it.
it's preferable to be inclusive, and welcome all the *BSD, *IX, etc.
people into the fold, rather than get restrictive. I use the GPL
myself, and I applaud the GNU contributions, but it's simply
more practical to be agnostic in this matter.
This is better served with a LUG moniker rather than a GLUG one. No
point fighting over this - let's move on, and spend our efforts on
finishing off Billy boy. As the great Marcus Cato said, in all his
speeches to the Roman Senate 'Coita Gatego ...', or translated from
the Pig Latin: '(Bill) Gates must be screwed...' :-). Actually, Cato
didn't say this, I'm saying this :-), and poor old Marcus must be
spinning in his grave.
