The hathway team is a tragic team in providing linux based internet
solutions. The big nonsense of their service is thier archeitecture they do
not have a dhcpd server running under their service. Hathway boys are using
windows based machine for NAT and all netty jargons.
Their way works like this , The machine needs a connection to internet has
to bind the network mac address and one has to configure the
pachacharum(five elements) 'IP,Netmask,Gateway, Primary DNS and secondary
DNS' after this the connection establishes
The problem which anyone faces is that if there are two network card
installed in the machine , All the tragic music starts there . if you are
using any eth0 like device like a wireless card is treated as eth1 will have
conflict in binding the mac address to the server kept in the ISP end.
This will not enable in a proper handshake.
Kindly have only one ethernet card, bind it ,configure the panchacharum, you
will be connect to the ethernet.if you have another disable, it in the
network panel and then try.
I am quoting here that "Hathway biling system is either
manupulative/errorneous which shoots the traffic score,"this is my personal
experience.
