Hi Patrick,
I use XP Pro, but you'll have to update any machines that are
networked to it. There are a couple of patches from Microsoft, or on your XP
CD. There is also a protocol in Win2K that isn't supported by XP. I can't think
of the name now (maybe BAWI). I got it to work, ping licenses, etc., but my fix
isn't supported, and I lose the server once in a while. I haven't figured out
how to print reliably yet. Had it, and lost it. Someone else can probably shed
more light on it. I can write to a PDF okay, so can print from somewhere else.
Otherwise, I really like XP. This is on a laptop, so portability and security
is the real issue. Bottom line, it depends on what your network requirement is.

For a new system, any strong feelings between W2K and XP Pro for
Allegro?
