IDF creates extrusions from the placebound height and the placebound
boundary which become Pro-E .prt files. If you have any Pro-E models you
have to name them the same as the footprints or alias them in the
hint.map file. You can use the extrusion .prt files to create accurate
representations by modifying them. They already have the proper origin
and orientation to the ECAD datum plane.

I just output an IDF file from a board in 15.1 and I noticed that it
references the parts, but does not create a part model... where does
the ME get the model for the parts?
IDF 3.0 output the part name, and location, but little else.
Hopefully he does not have to build a model for each part. Other tools
I have used also spit out the models of the parts...
Anybody doing Allegro to Pro-E now?
