Like my friend Mr. Barber, I also had the opportunity to look at the qwerty docking station for the Icon. All I can say is, I'm quite impressed. The action on the keys is wonderful, and I believe that this docking places the Icon in a position to compete with any other blindness PDA on the market today. -----Original Message----- From: icon-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:icon-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jenny Axler Sent: Monday, March 17, 2008 8:21 PM To: icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [icon-discuss] Re: I touched the docking station The front piece is actually a wrist rest. The keyboard is slanted even if the wrist rest is folded under, but you're right, it slants a bit more when the wrist rest is folded out. I am extremely criticalabout keyboards, and i really love the keyboard on the dock. The casing is tapered, so it slants a bit, and there is some contrast between the rows of keys, not quite as flat as a laptop, and the way the keys press--well, i just can't describe it, but you'll not be disappointed. It does come with a carrying case, yes. The wrist rest does not serve as a handle, but the carrying case has both a grip handle, and a carry strap. Another thing i love about the carrying case is that it has a velcro pocket on the outside of the case rather than inside, and the pocket has some depth to it. So, you can carry around the charger, maybe some day a Braille display, etc, without pressing against the keys or making the case too bulky to close.
