Hi Carlos, Yeah, I agree. It is astonishing we can push the limits of the game as far as we do, which says a lot about Ian's programming skills. Naturally, I could always play more Tombrobber! Lol. As for what you want to make...that is really your call. The greek stuff is interesting, but I could easily see those kind of scenarios in tombrobber as well. The naval battles might be neat. You are talking about the swashbuckling days of pirates and the like? Or do you mean a more modern naval battle, perhaps like in world war 2, or current day naval ships? This isn't a push for anything, I am just brainstorming here on general principles... Some genres that haven't been touched are the wild west, with cowboys and Indians, the age of muskets which could feature anything between American revolutionary war to napoleon, or a fantasy equivalent. Giant mech robots like in Japanese cartoons, naval combat in all ages, modern warfare in the 20th century, pokemon, lol, fantasy world versus modern world, the greeks mythos, the norse mythos, far east medieval combat or fantasy, superheros like superman and wolverine, cyberpunk, fantasy where the players are vamps or werewolves, battlestar galactica, small group tactics like socom, essentially a four man team goes into rescue hostages, or plant bombes etc....that is about all I can think of at the moment. I know my next project is starwars/clone wars scenarios. al -----Original Message----- From: ian-reeds-games-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ian-reeds-games-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Carlos Macintosh Sent: Tuesday, August 06, 2013 3:18 AM To: ian-reeds-games@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ian-reeds-games] hmm Just brainstorming here, but with the start of school, I'm also going to be making more maps for TB. Because I have a lot of time to burn at school when I'm bored and that's how I made things go by quicker last year. So what kind of things do you want to see? More tomb robber maps, I know I can take the storyline in a number of different directions. Boat/sea battles could also be interesting, with you as a ship captain controlling a ship and gong on certain missions, or something akin to the lone wolf submarine sim missions. There's the fantasy kingdom with elements vs angry demons/orcs/whatever route, though that's been pretty well fleshed out. Reenactments of old greek myths, such as theseus in the labyrinth, orpheus through the underworld, etc, are also an idea. The thing that is hard to overlook on this game is that the game is meant to be a game of battle. Sometimes we try and mutate it into something else, but really, the point of the game isn't to be an all purpose game engine, but to be an engine for fighting engaging and interesting battles, and sometimes I have to remember to keep myself in the battle mind set when thinking of ideas.
