I converted files , switched them also to mp3 and they play normally on my xp
laptop, but the game still has an error loading them.
So it might be the game? Does it matter if it is mp3 format?

Great to hear from you. Thanks for pointing out the issue with 24 bit
sounds and Windows XP. Shaun and I have just been discussing that issue
and you pin pointed it for us.
Let me know if converting the sounds to 16 bit works. I'll try to
figure it out myself sometime soon.
