ai_buff and ai_uncurse doesn't check self_effects and self_remove effects, huh? Seems fixable.

Now, if only I didn't have a few laborious and off-putting changes I needed to put in first.

Both of the skills involve self casting. So if       I switch a self
effect
flag to, a plain effect , then this should work. Do I understand that

yes the ai_buff skill is used to apply effects to the AI unit. For some
  reason it has to be effects and not self_effects if that's what you want
  to do. Ai_uncurse checks the remove_effects flag and then sees if any of
  them match an effect the unit has, to have it removed.
