I tried Knoppix the other day when I my laptop came in. I used it for it's=
=20
hardware detection capabilities. What a great tool to have around!

One thing I forgot to mention about my Debian experience was the install. =
=20
I've seen a lot of complaints about Debian's installation.  I just didn't=20
think it was difficult at all. It may be text based, but that doesn't mean=
=20
it's bad. I thought it was a pretty simple and progressed naturally throug=
h=20
the installation stages. It's also nice that it lets you activate swap ear=
ly=20
on so that you can install it on older machines with little memory. With R=
H,=20
you can run it with 16 MB, but you'll have to put in at least 32 MB for the=
=20
installer :-)

I also found some up-to-date KDE packages for Debian last night, so I'm hap=
py=20
there. I think I might just have to repartition my laptop so I can include=
 a=20
Debian install on there along side Gentoo. Does anyone know of a=20
non-destructive reparitioning tool that lets you modify ext3 partitions?
