Best one was told to me by a friend form Ireland. A builder took a
bribe to connect an unmetered gas connection. Some time after the
builder left, the buyer discovered that the builder buried a small
propane tank in the yard and plumbed the so-called illegal gas hookup to
that tank.

That is what my SIL suggested. This home was built by a contractor for
his parents. He lived next door..............................
May have to kill all of the breakers as Rob suggested and see if the
meter moves. Most times it just spins slowly and for the past 3-4
days, usage seems normal. But sometimes I swear if I put a propeller
on the meter, my garage would fly away!
