Thank you for the kind offer but I really will need to get a 20' extension
ladder to maintain the gutters and such.
She'll be OK as long as I only use it when she is home.
The fact that they are two discrete units rather than just a cap makes me
suspect that they are more than just termination points.
And as I said, there are already dual spots on each corner of the house.

You want to borrow one of mine, Mike? I've got a 6fter and, if you want to help
me dig it out, a 20something footer in the shed.

I may have to go against Beth's wishes and actually buy a ladder... 😊
I'm going nuts trying to figure out why I am using so much electricity at this
new house.
1/3 smaller, ten years newer, better insulated, same appliances as I had at the
previous house and I am logging more than DOUBLE the electricity used. If I am
reading the meter correctly, (and I'm pretty certain I am) I used 1100 KWh in
just FIVE DAYS last week.
I called National Grid and the nice woman went over possibilities but even she
could not believe the usage. (no Nick, I don't have a grow room)

Those look like waterproof junction boxes put in place to terminate wires for a
to be installed dual head spotlight. There could also be PIR (Passive Infra
Red) sensor installed in one or both of them, the picture wasn't quite clear
enough for me to tell if the boxes were just weathered more on the sides than
the bottom (most likely) or if the bottom was some sort of cover for the sensor
that could be in there. I am almost certain you'll find it's just terminated
wires inside each box so you could install light sockets at a later date.

What the heck is this thing?
I would expect there to be a pair of sockets for spot-lights on this mount
since this is on the side of my house just a few feet down from the eaves.
There are dual spotlight fixtures already placed on each corner of the house....
Anyone recognize these things?
