Jim, are you kidding??
I have some pretty strong evidence Hasselblad cameras were meant to be used handheld as well. I have at least 12 pictures from Victor Hasselblad where he uses the 500 C and the later 500 CM handheld.

It's called a 'cable release'. I may have once taken a hand held photo with my Hasselblad, but it's probably forty years ago...

Hand held photos... the reason they make Leica M cameras.
