Jim,Of course a handheld Hassy asks a considerable higher performance from the operator. If the opereator handles the Hasselblad as it should be done even at shutterspeeds
well below 1/60 sharp negatives are possible. I admit using a Hasselblad handheld is not everybodies cup of tea. It is like moving about with an Arriflex film camera: Some cameramen master that art without anybody noticing these shots were not made with a dolly. It means good control over a large number of muscles including breathing. Those who master that technique will be rewarded by large sharp negatives that
will beat 35 mm anytime. Richard----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Brick" <jim@xxxxxxxxx>

Perhaps they would be equal at happysnap size - 4x6 & 5x5.I have some critically sharp 20x24 Ciba prints from my hand held Leica M, 35/1.4 ASPH, 1/30 @ f/5.6, Fuji Provia 100. Would not have worked with my Hasselblad, same film, same f/stop, same shutter speed. I've tried it and that was the last time that I hand held my Hassy. The Leica M is made for hand holding - no mirror and easy to hold/use. I'll take a sharp 35mm image any day over a mirror vibrated MF image. But, if you are not going to print anything over, say, 8x8, then my point is probably moot.MHO, Jim =============================================================================================================To unsubscribe from this list, go to www.freelists.org and logon to your account (the same e-mail address and password you set-up when you subscribed,) and unsubscribe from there.
