Hi all,

I am having some issues building what's in CVS and thought I might get my
problem solved here a lot quicker than digging around.

Originally I downloaded the BeOS R5 developer version from BeBits. Trying to
build 'haiku' with that didn't work because the gcc version wasn't correct
(2.95.3 ??). Anyway, I downloaded the 'developer extensions' for BeOS R5
personal edition and things got a LOT better. I didn't have the STL troubles I
had before. However, I am still having some undefined symbol issues with
"__gthread_mutex_lock" and "__gthread_mutex_unlock" and I believe it may have
something to do with kernel versions. (On KernelLd with libroot.so)

I have a dedicated box I've hobbled together just for the purposes of
Haiku/BeOS stuff, but I'm not sure what to put on it to begin with. BeOS R5
personal edition? Developer edition? Max edition? Do I need "BONE" (that
causes the BeOS kernel to crash as well but I think that's because the BeOS
version I installed was wrong).

The path I'm going to try is "BeOS R5 PERSONAL edition" with the devtools.zip
on top of that. Is that the recommended build enviro for Haiku? If not,
what is? Are there additional configuration issues I should worry about?

Any info appreciated. I'd like to spend as little time as possible
troubleshooting build environment issues.

Regards,

   Gregory
