Right, even though I like how Tango manages to have the icons (at 32x32) stand out without having a hard borderline (better than the other sets without one), and the set looks mostly great too. I just wouldn't like it as the default Haiku set. I agree :-) One additional thought: the colors of the Be-like icons are mostly like their originals. How about taking the Haiku logo colors (green, orange, yellow) more into account?
