Using git instead of trac would still improve things, as we could
automatically let patches be tried out, and just have to press "commit" --
IOW it will be as easy as github for us, not for the contributors.

If you go to the trouble of creating a patch, it's rather trivial to get it
published either way IMO
What if Gerrit can be configured to work with Github PR? That would be a
good solution (more trouble for a sysadmin though)
