Hrm, I was using 2048x1536 on a 21" Cornerstone CRT (19" viewable)
back in 1995-96... They made monitors (and video cards) at even higher
resolutions for industrial CAD work at that time and I've always
wondered why it's taken so long for higher pixel density to catch on.
LCD really screwed it all up.
An "arbitrary" scaling factor makes the most sense going forward.
