I assume it's not as simple as doubling pixels (because that could be done at the driver level) but rather scaling all the graphics up so that non vertical/horizontal lines take advantage of the extra pixel density to improve anti-aliasing... Since the app_server uses AGG for drawing primitives - it seems we're mostly setup to do this already, with some scaling features built into the appearance prefs perhaps.
