1) Freedesktop.org specification actually specify a config folder and
ways to access it. under linux it's ~/.config. Unfortunately not sop
much apps are using it yet
2) If you allow people to hide that, they will do, and then do unclean
port and not even notice there is something wrong. Then more users
will hide them, do more wrong ports, and so on. By not allowing to
hide these files (which is not really needed), you hint them to make a
proper port. changing a path is not that difficult, is it ?
