Indeed. I'd rather the default setup not require a Unicode font; even if we
have one, we have no guarantee that someone will not SSH into Haiku from a
terminal that uses a monospace font without Unicode symbols.

Additionally, the checkmark symbols are pretty thick and even a little
distracting as such. I toyed with even making the smileys black instead of
red and green, but decided that the darker colors were fine. The thicker
symbols would be a little much I think, though.

I do agree we should use $/# properly now. I'll take a look at that later.
