Coloring just the > looks strange. The other options look ok.
I still think putting the checkmark on the left (before the path) makes
more sense.
And since you were talking about impressing Linux users on IRC, what
about adding something like this:

Then you can also see if a command failed even without activating the
tab. It needs Terminal to poke into commands status codes, however, but
that may not be too far off (it already checks if a command is running
when you try to close a tab).
