Carol,If you haven't used your receiver in a few months it will take longer to acquire satellites. I would recommend standing in a fairly open area ffor over 45 seconds with the receiver on your shoulder strap. This isn't a battery problem, but rather a problem of inactivity. Hope this works out.Kevin----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Pearson" <carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx>To: "GPS Mailing List" <gps-talkusers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, May 14, 2007 6:09 AM Subject: [gps-talkusers] WHEN THE BATTERY DIESHi all,I have a Holux GPSlim 35 receiver and think the battery (batteries) are on the way out. Although I have charged this again ready for use (after a few months of inactivity), although the receiver is recognized by my PK, I am unable to acquire satellites. Is this likely to be a battery problem? If so, could you please advise if there is one or are there two different batteries about which I should be concerned and can replace, or do I have to purchase a new unit?Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. -- Carol carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx
