I don't really want to have to buy a battery in the States. I'm in the UK, by the way.
Any other suggestions. -- Carol carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin Chao" <g.unit89@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>

I was talking about Holux GPS receiver usedwith PK since that was what Carol was talking about. This is what the partof the manual says. The battery life should be around 10 hours and it takes about 2 hours tofully charge. Coincidentally, the battery is the same type as the battery used in many Nokia phones such as the 6620 and 6682. The Holux battery is3.7 volts and 1000 MAH. When I received my GPS about a month ago, I remember reading that the battery used in the receiver is the kind that is often used in cellphones. So we can buy it anywhere I suppose. When I got mine, the battery was not installed so I had to do it myself. It was easy though. If you need step by step instruction of how to replace thebattery when you come to that point, let me know, I can dig out the odocumentation for you. I now have managed to get in but it took rather longer thanusual to acquire my position. Due to a problem recently with my PK, I had to pair from scratch after re-installing software, so that maybe accountsfor the delay. I just didn't expect to wait so long. -- Carol carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris G" <cgrabowski73@xxxxxxxxx> To: <gps-talkusers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, May 14, 2007 2:31 PM Subject: [gps-talkusers] Re: WHEN THE BATTERY DIESHi Carol, You can do a test to see if it's the battery or not. 1. remove the battery. 2. connect the receiver to power. 3. try and acquire satellites. Have you also re paired and activated the receiver lately. perhaps there's something strange going on just with that and it's not a hardware battery issue. Is this likely to be a battery problem? If so, could you please advise if there is one or are there two differentbatteries about which I should be concerned and can replace, or do I haveto purchase a new unit? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.-------------------------------------- Easy + Joy + Powerful = Yahoo!
