Gary 9/29: Dr. Jones, it is undoubtedly a shackle for you to have your
status as an astonomy professional. You can no more jump up and shout
"Proof!" than a medical doctor can scream "Cure!". Your respective
establishments probably frown on that type of uncircumspect action. Peers
at your level require peer review upon study upon peer review upon test, I
am quite sure.

So I'm very happy to not be you. I can go out on a limb with impunity and
only get the scorn of Rob or Phillip. And I have the luxury of learning
from my mistakes. Do your professional peers condone this making of
mistakes in the course of learning? I don't know but I somehow don't think
so. I imagine them rather harsh.

My point is that I can tell everyone I know that I believe I have PROOF the
earth doesn't turn. I can scream it from the bottom of my soul to the top
of my heart. I know it's true. I will always maintain this, unless and
until somebody can show me the error of my atmospheric views. In talking
with Richard Elmendorf once he told me a good philosophy. I believe it went
"The heliocentrists have been here for hundreds of years and they're not
going away anytime soon, so don't be expecting that." I know that's true,
but as my name, Gary, means spear carrier or warrior, I'm always up for the
battle. I say we geocentrists need to throw away the scraps from
Longshanks' table and go for our God-given right to something better.

In geostasis,

Gary Shelton

atmosphere was changing. I like to think that I am always prepared to adapt
my thinking - so long as ultimately we arrive back at "God did it," which
Rob unfortunately doesn't want to even allow.

Ecclesiastes 1:6? There the Bible says (KJV) "The wind goeth toward the
south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and
the wind returneth again according to his circuits." The wind goes from the
south to the north and therefore, Biblically speaking, the atmosphere is
most definitely precluded from rotating only west to east with a rotating
earth."

allude to before now. I therefore thank you sincerely for bringing it to my
attention. Does anyone on the group have any contacts in the Met Office to
check this over-riding N-S wind direction out?
