you have to have an e-mail address to be a slaga member? If a family shares
one e-mail account are they only counted as 1 member?

There are two requirements for being a SLAGA member. The
first one is to live within the area and the second one is
to have a working email address where they can be reached.
Those are the only two requirements we have. We don't charge
dues, etc. but we do ask for an email address where we can
send them information and where they can be contacted at. I
have confidence in the membership. The ballots are
available to "SLAGA" members and not to anyone who can bring
up the website. We could go by a more restrictive
interpretation of the by-laws that would require attendance
at the "Fall Picnic" to vote. The board chose not to do
that.
I was asked where the ballot could be obtained from and I
explained that it was already sent to the membership. I will
also be sending out a second blast that explains how someone
who did not get the first ballot will be able to request a
replacement. I don't think that I "bit" someone's head off
by asking if everyone actually "read" the email blast. It
was explainatory.
This newsgroup is not an official method of communication by
SLAGA. Granted that many people who are SLAGA members are
also members of this board, but not everyone is.
If anyone felt that I "bit" their head off, then I
appologize.
