Good deal... Last fall I found a honey hole area and I picked about 30 pounds of them to dry for the winter. They reconstitute well and are great in various dishes. When using fresh, I sauteé them in some olive oil or sometimes stuff the larger caps. The great thing about oyster mushrooms is that there's pretty much nothing that looks like them that will hurt you. Given the right conditions they grow all year around. ________________________________ From: Jim Greene <jimsgreene@xxxxxxxxx> To: geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, May 4, 2009 9:41:52 PM Subject: [GeoStL] Re: NGR Mushroom Found around 10:00 this morning. You can sautée them, use them in soups...you name it. Treat them like any other mushroom. Did you just find them recently? ________________________________ From: Jim Greene <jimsgreene@xxxxxxxxx> To: geocaching@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, May 4, 2009 9:32:41 PM Subject: [GeoStL] NGR Mushroom Here is a link to some pictures I took of a large mushroom. Any idea of what kind it is, and how or whether to cook it? share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8AcNXDJu0bNGTf
