LOL Arlene!
Jim and I had the same thing happen to us in MS. We could see the paved road
below us after coming around a curve on the levee. It was raining then too,
but we kept on till we got to the end and a nice gravel area to get back to the
pavement below.

Crazy Nuvi's I tell ya.

Makes that t-shirt w the guy watching his gps instead of the cliff in front of
him w the word FOCUS!!!! all that more important.

You just cannot rely on Nuvi's. I don't care how up to date the maps are.
We even had an experience in Kansas City where it told us go to an outer road
then back onto the interstate for less that 3 tenths of mile. WHAT was that
all about????

Michael, where did you come up with the Bob's Road (tm)???

We definitely don't call our Nuvi Bob either LOL!

Fun subject.

Susie

I have used the 'Pika Road' system and let me tell you, that was an adventure!
We ended up on a levy, did a 200+ point turn on TOP of the levy, I just about
broke my fingers gripping the Ohhhh *&^% bar...but hey I eventually got the
cache!

To begin, a Bob's Road™ is any roadway that the GPSr wants you to take that
does not officially exist.

Anyway, I was out caching in the Warrensburg/Sedalia area and used my Nuvi to
guide me on a predetermined route. While out in the country, it wanted me to
turn on a VERY rural road (i.e., not really gravel..a dirt road...not even
marked). So, I did. Now, I have been down a few Bob's Roads™ before, and all
has gone well. Usually, it makes you wonder how the Nuvi even knew about this
roadway at all, because a Bob's Road™ can alternate between a semi-gravel or
bedrock road that looks like someone's driveway to just a dirt path through a
field.

Anyway, I took this Bob's Road™ and it was a doozy. I drove about a mile
through ruts, little hills, crossed a shallow creek and eventually mudded it
through some seriously wet areas only to find another farmer had blocked the
rest of the road! So, I had to go all the way back and find another way...and
have my Nuvi chide me for not following the way it suggested.

So, apart from this incident, I have used Bob's Roads™ with success...have you
experienced them?

-Michael
