I was assuming gnucash had the capability to store attached documents with a
transaction, but couldn't find anything about it other than a feature request
someone had made in 2001. While searching, though, I did find this electronic
document management system that looks very good http://www.openkm.com/. They
have an online demo. It has both user and group based access controls to the
documents, keyword tagging, fast indexed searching, OCR, version control,
etc... The interface is web based. If the images are stored in PNG format,
there is an online image viewer so you wouldn't have to download and save the
image locally, but it can manage pdf files as well. This could be used to
centrally archive other documents in addition to scanned receipts.
