Likewise it is quite usefull when having the DCS control devices it is otherwise not fast enough to effectively control, refiner plate movement in a paper mill, for example. Lots of maintanance folks still like the ladders; they understand them right out of the box. Relative isolation of a PLC FBM improves reliability and reduces likelyhood of errors elsewhere impacting that control device. This thing certainly has it's place in a DCS. I would argue for improved communications and configuration twixt FBM and CP and some ladder function improvements. Such add number transfers and limited numeric PLB functions. Such as a somewhat more slick ladder editor. They never integrated very well with FoxCAE. Is there integration with IACC? Can I "can" a motor controller which includes HMI, Block and PLB functions and drop multiple instances into an IA system data base? Would be nice. Regards, William C. Ricker FeedForward, Inc.
