I find this (and similar) opinions rather amazing. Wasn't it the "pressure" of the customers which made Foxboro choose the M$ platform in the first place? I can't help but stick to my opinion that porting the system to Solaris for Intel would have probably been a wiser move (porting would have been much more straightforward, cheap hardware, happy users, etc.).
