After initial success, the trends
reverted back to hist01 (old historian) today. New
symptom, I watched my co-worker open up one of the offending
trends and it came up properly, 10 seconds later I opened up
the same trend from a different box and it reverted to
hist01. Also a few of the past offending trends appear
to be staying fixed (for now), even though they were all
repaired with the same method.
Any other ideas are appreciated!
Thanks,
Chad

Thanks Dale! I saved a few of the offending trends to
.g files. I could not find any hist01 references in
the .g file but saved it back to .fdf anyways. Without
making any other changes the data appears the first time I
reload the trend and the pens are showing hist80. Time
will tell if it's permanent but this appears
promising!

Hi Chad.....
I believe I had similar problems. Foxboro converted
our Trends from Display manager to Foxview/FoxDraw back in
2008 and often old descriptors, historians, and engineering
units would stay from the old graphics but were unwanted as
most of these changed. You could make a permanent
change but still they'd revert back after a couple of
recalls. Very annoying but after I changed the Foxview
to a .g file and edit with a text editor and delete any
"hist01" text in our case and then convert .g file back to
FoxView the permanent change would correctly stay as
"hist05" after that. Not saying you have the same
problem but it's something you could try.

Subject: [foxboro] Foxview trend reverting to wrong
historian
Hi list,
I have a number of trends in FoxView that recently decided
to go look for an old historian and therefore not populating
with data, here's the behavior:
1. If I right click on the
dysfunctional trend, go to advanced, and go to advanced pen
1 (2,3,4), under historian name it says hist01 (old
historian name).
2. When I open the same trend
in foxdraw it is configured to hist80 (proper historian
name).
3. Back in Foxview If I
change this to hist80, select "permanent" under save/exit
choices, and refresh the trend it works at first.
4. I can open and close the
trend and it keeps coming up hist80 and good data.
5. Randomly(ish), I'll open
the exact same trend and I'll get no data. The
advanced pen screen shows again hist01. Foxdraw still
shows it's configured as hist80. Some of the trends I
fixed are still working, others reverted back, I can't pick
up a pattern to the madness.
Has anyone experienced anything similar or have an
idea to try?
