"I have a situation here to configure an alarm on the process measurement such that when there is no change in the process value (.PNT or .MEAS) for a certain period say 10 minutes, an alarm should pop up." Waseem, Have you tried using the rate of change capability of a REALM block? Make your rate of change appropriately small for the ROCLIM parameter. The time for the ROCTIM parameter should be smaller than the 10 minute period you suggested. It should be just long enough to filter out random spikes or dips. Bring the ROCIND parameter into a LOGIC block and invert the signal. Now, you will have signal telling you when you DO NOT have an appropriately large change in your analog signal. You can use a DON command set for 10 minutes to tell you when the signal has not changed for some time. I have not tried this yet, so your mileage may vary.
