Dear Perez I have seen the file you mentioned but there is lot of data there and I am lost as to what to look for during the time to system going down. Please advise. Sometimes it goes to ok prompt on the message " Panic..................." And sometimes the display just freezes with no response from keyboard = =3D and mouse. The CPU power is on and the screen is frozen onto one display. I have checked the disk space by df command and usage is very low. Most = =3D of the hard disk is empty. Also the memory usage is very low as indicated = =3D by "vmstat" and "perfmeter" commands.=3D20 Surprisingly there are two such AW51Ds and both are having similar =3D frequent problem. Can you comment what can be the problem. Guess the problem lies within = =3D the CPU of these machines. Even if you are not at 8.x there are three documents you might find helpful: B0700AM - Just ADMC B0700AT - Workstation Alarm Management (revised). I think improved over B0193RV B0700AP - AM Built-In Commands Although written for 8.0 (with a lot of enhancements) you may find them useful. Also for the matching, the following should also work: match no_priority1.ams clear_page stop_match -----Original Message----- From: foxboro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:foxboro-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Grace, Kathy Sent: Tuesday, July 10, 2007 5:49 PM To: foxboro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [foxboro] changing clear button action in CAD Steve, Try replacing the command on the Clear Alarm button with: !=3D3D3D3D <Priority> 1 clear_alm This should only clear the alarm if it is not a priority 1. However I do not think this will work with multiple alarms selected. Also if the alarm has returned to normal the priority field will no longer have the "1" in it. It will most likely contain an "R", so if selected even a RTN priority 1 alarm would be cleared. It would not be possible to do this with Clear Page. The clear_page functionality is internal to the AM. You might be able to use a combination of matching and clear_page. Filter out priority 1 alarms (via a pre-created match spec file), clear_page, stop the match. You would probably see the AM changing as the matches were applied and then stopped. Something like the following might work. I've never tried it myself. almdisp CAD -match no_priority1.ams clear_page stop_match You can write your own scripts and programs and execute them with the AM built-in command "run" however there is no built-in to do a clear_alarm by name it must be selected. I want to change the "Clear Alarm" and "Clear Page" button actions in the CAD. Instead of simply disabling these buttons, I'd like to be able to have these buttons ignore alarms based upon priority. For example, I don't want priority 1 alarms to be cleared, but all others can. B0193RV taunts me with a "hint" that this can be accomplished, but I haven't been able to discover how. Hopefully someone knows how to do this (on a UNIX-only system). Thanks!
