If you have the old host ID and original authorization code, an Invensys employee that has access to the CSC web site can regenerate the code for a new host ID in a matter of minutes for a replacement box anytime day or night. But you have to have the original info and New host ID... That make it critical that you save the original info in a safe place besides on the machine that it was installed on. We needed authorization for 8000 pts so I'm not sure if the temp code would have worked or not. All I am saying is that this authorization scheme seems to cause a lot of non value added work and confusion. Compared to this I would rather use the old floppy disk site specific licenses of Foxboro yesteryear. This has to create another level of overhead to support it at FoMass, and for what gain? Stepping down from the stump I will now quit beating this dead horse. And to all a good night. He says, "One potential concern, there is a point limit to the temp license. I believe it is 5000 points. Need confirmation though. Any confirmation from the Foxboro folks on the list?
