There were13 participants for our meeting today.
Annette lost her favourite voice on her Iphone 7, and wanted to know how to
change the voice. Her voice that she liked was replaced by a voice she does
not like.
Stuart said go to accessability, then voice over, then speech, and here you
will find options for different voices.
Also Stuart, said that she may find the original voice she liked and used by
using the rotor and go to languages, and her she may find her favourite
voicehere.
There was a long conversation on the various apps for getting bus times.
For instance, Mary uses a bus stop where both Dublin Bus and Go Ahead (the
private bus operator use. ,
And when she saves the number 18 bus (Goahead bus), to her favourites, then
the app that she uses which is Next bus, will call out all the buses that
stop at that stop
Including both Dublin Bus and Go Ahead buses. ``The bus 83 which is Dublin
Bus and 18 bus which is now a private bus are both called out on her smart
phone.
Bert said that the downside to the Next bus app, is that they don't refresh,
so a bus coming in 10 minutes is still coming in 10 minutes even though it
is only 4 minutes away.
Mary was talking about Zip Files, and although she unzipped a recent zip
file, she can't remember how she did the unzipping.
Bert said the bbest way to unzip a file safely is to create a folder on your
hard drive, and then go to www.ninite.com <http://www.ninite.com> where you
can find the best app to unzip a file, its called 7 zip file, and storing the
file to be unzipped in a newly created folder , you can unzip the file using
7 to unzip.
More discussion ensued on the Borrow box app From the libraries, . Recently
Cearbhall was reading a book, when he was asked to put in his pin number, but
this did not work.
He rang Wicklow library the following day and they kindly reset his pin
number.
This outage and blib happened in all the libraries due to updating, and
everybody has to ring their library and ask someone to reset their pin
number. One must subscribe to Borrowbox, every2 years to continue the service
to your pin.
Joe wanted to know how to get a Junk MAIL CHANGED to go into your inbox.
He has a friend wh has some numbers and so on her e mail address, making it
look like a scam mail.
Bert said on your desktop use control +f6 to go to your folders, and then
open the junk folder and you will find an option to basically unjunk this
mail and next time it will be directed to your inbox.
Joe wanted to know however how to do this on the g mails on his iPhone. Bert
promised to investigate this and get back to Joe and the group.
Tom likes scanning using Voice Dream, which makes a bleep when scanning and
this sound disappears when the document is fully scanned.
To do this properly, one must have Edge Detection turned off.
Both Tom and Bert also mentioned Super Sense as another good scanner to go
with those already used by most people, Seeing AI, and Sullivan plus.
