I was using Outlook internet mail settings from home to download the headers
and send to internal users but can't to external at home I have a wireless
internet connection from a different ISP then at the office. I tried by
using a laptop with a dialup connection to the same ISP as at the office
with exchange settings with offline folders setup but can't send external.
I have my firewall ports open to allow external access as I stated before.
It keeps saying that I can't relay, so how would I allow relay at the server
for certain users being that they have dialup and so the IP address never
stays the same.

I will try this at lunch. Is there some way to allow certain users to
relay? I do have allow all computers that authenticate to relay in the
relay properties of the SMTP virtual server. Another thing is that I do not
have an SMTP connector, so far there was no need for it. Do I need one now?
Could it possibly be that my ISP doesn't allow relay being that they are
controlling our MX records and such?

Relay denied.... looks like the exchange server is treating these external
users as some one trying to relay messages through your exchange server....
just for a test ... can you enable your exchange to relay all mails through
it... just for a couple of minutes... and then send the test message again
and then disable it again... check the properties on the dial in
clients....let me check if there are any specific settings that by default
enable or disable outlook clients.
