Lake J has produced some good spring birds the last two days:
green heron (only 1 so far but more will arrive soon!)
black -crowned night-herons
great egrets
lesser yellow legs (1)
today's Bonaparte's was real spiffy with his black hood
and a flock of horned grebes were from winter white to close to full
plumage...go figure
along with the blue-winged teal and shoveler migrants have been a few
straggling scaup and hooded mergs
