I got mine from Lauren Engineering: http://www.laureneng.com/1290071.html but I couldn't find the bed cover listed anywhere...but anything's possible...my sleep schedule has been kinda goofy and I dunno if I'm all here or not. :)
http://www.chevyasylum.com/Previous%20Projects/80elky/80elky18.htmlThere's the section on my website where I showed the installation of the cover. I was pleased with it with one minor exception. At the very front, there was a separate section that fitted up against the back glass. I had to seal it with silicone to keep water from leaking into the bed. That worked ok except that water would build up in that area and leave a lotta dirt and other residue that was hard to clean out. That's a minor issue, really. It came with springs that would have acted like hood hinge springs, but I never installed 'em. It was wonna them "round tuit" things. :)
One other thing that happened was when I forgot to lock the cover and parked it in a way that it was vulnerable to the wind...and we had a massive storm front with 50 mph winds come thru. Apparently the spoiler I had on the back was just perfect for lifting the cover and it ended up about 10 feet away from the car. A coupla scratches was the only damage. I guess it coulda been a lot worse.

I'm looking at the various bed cover options (for my '80)... Ray what was the tonneau you had? Fiberglass? I looked at the fiberglass tonneaus, they are expensive, not necessarily water tight and maybe heavy? Another idea is a camper top, but none of the ones I've seen work with the lines of the El Camino (sorry if anyone has one!). Reading on the El Camino Central forum the recommended vinyl tonneau is from Craftec: http://www.craftecinc.com/Products_Information.php?SKU=252108 There is also an article from El Camino magazine about this tonneau: http://www.elcaminocentral.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1271&d=1306026176 No snaps and the price is reasonable.
