That is what I thought. I have one saying 40 cells 2004 nfbd agenda.brf as its filename as an example. For the other document I would do 30 cells 2004 nfbd agenda.brf as its filename. Thanks a lot. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Teri McElroy" <teri@xxxxxxxxxx> To: <duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, June 02, 2004 10:17 PM Subject: [duxuser] Re: two types of braille documents. Hi Lisa To change the line length from 40 to 30 characters, go in to the embosser setup and do it there as you suggested. After you have translated the 40 character per line file, go back to the dxp file, change the embosser setup and retranslate with the shorter line length. I find it helpful to put something in the filename to tell me how many characters per line the file has so I don't have to go check all all the time. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lisa Hall" <lhall10@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: "duxbury user list" <duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, June 03, 2004 3:05 PM Subject: [duxuser] two types of braille documents. Hi everyone, I have a question for everyone. I have been transcribing the Braille Edition of the 2004 National Federation of the Blind Deaf-Blind Division Agenda that will be printed on both types of Braille paper. The default format, is set for 40 characters per line with 25 lines per page and is saved as a formatted .brf format after translating the file. I want to take the same Duxbury file and translate it using the smaller paper for embossing. Do I have to go into the Braille printer settings to change it for the 30 characters per line with 25 lines per page? I don't know what printer or whether it will be printed on both sides of the page. I want to set this up as a standard format so no matter what printer is used whether it be interprint or single-sided or whether it's the wide or narrow paper that it would be set up for that. I don't know what Braille translation will be set up and whether the agency at Colorado Center for the Blind uses Duxbury. I am assuming that they use that program since I am trying very hard to comply with NLS standards and following the BANA codes for formatting. It is my understanding that there is no standard format for setting up a format for agendas especially for a national convention such as National Federation of the Blind in Atlanta, Georgia from June 29 through July 5, 2004. Next year our convention will be back in Louisville, Kentucky at the Galt House. I look forward to hearing from everyone soon.
