Kim: Start OpenBook, scan the document, use OpenBook's conversion utility to convert the document to MS Word format, close OpenBook, open Word and open the document in the usual way. Using the "scan to Microsoft Word using OpenBook" while in Word, might involve the process using a third party product used by Microsoft, which could be introducing additional codes into the document, that might prevent DBT importing the MS Word document to the correct level of accuracy, for transcription to braille format. sincerely: Dave Durber ----- Original Message ----- From: KimsanSong To: duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, September 16, 2010 12:18 PM Subject: [duxuser] Re: transcribing questions and thoughts Hi, What I meant by scanning into word is I would place the paper in the scanner, open up word, click on the file menu and click on scan using open book. I have more comfort using word seeing as my knoledge in using Duxbury is minimal seeing as I rarily use it. I just wanted to learn more to better my skills and keep a job!:) I wish I had materials to read while at home due to me teaching all day at work there is simply no time to read.
