Hi Anne,

Did you have View: Codes on (Alt + F3) in DBT when you were looking for this
in the file in DBT BEFORE it was translated?

If you did, then the important thing is to enter the Code correctly, as a
Code, into the "Text to find:" field.

Let us suppose the Code you wish to replace is [q~d]

With your Cursor in the "Text to find:" field, hold down the left Alt key
and press left square bracket.

(I only say "left Alt key for the benefit of many international users whose
right Alt key does a different function)

This should bring up a pair of square brackets with your cursor sitting
between them.

Now type q~d or whatever you have in the Code you are looking for. Do NOT
type the brackets.

Make sure you press right arrow to move your cursor to the end of that line,
and fully outside the Code.

Move to the "Replace with:" field, and enter whatever you wish to replace
with.

Press OK.

George.

It wasn't visible in the print document. It showed up as a q code but when I
did a search and replace for the exact code that showed up in the braille
document, it was not found.

Ann,

You'd probably have better luck figuring out the symbol from the print
document if you had it. You might try back-translating the braille file
just to see what you'd get, but that might not be the original character as
back-translation doesn't always yield accurate results. However, if you can
find the actual print symbol, you can copy and paste it into the Find edit
box of the Find/Replace dialog and replace it with nothing to get rid of it.

My document is about 480 pages in braille. Someone put a code in that
results in the following being sprinkled throughout the document. Neither
search and replace or find will recognize it. I'm using version 11.3. The
symbos consist of dots 3,6 dots 3,6 dots 5,6
