I am wondering if you are in 8-dot braille. What braille display are you using?
You can go into JAWS Settings centre and check that 8-dot braille is off and
also braille translation is off for braille files in DBT, since you don’t want
JAWS translating braille that is already translated,

Hi,
Recently, my husband had to change out my video card on my computer.
When I try translating a document into braille, there are extra dots
and symbols showing. Any suggestions to get rid of them? I am running
DBT 12.5 on Windows 10 with JAWS 2022.
