Well, George, for a lifelong braille user like myself, it is an easy
transition.   But I can imagine that using ascii might have a shorter
learning curve for a print user.

Simply because, having learned to type braille "Perkins Style", it's an
easier transition to a keyboard, as opposed to learning something new.
