Hello all, I am pretty new to using DBT and brailing. Currently I am only doing small projects like class handouts and tests. I am just translating and embossing with little or no changes. I realize this is not the best way, but my student can understand it, and I am too buried in other work to spend the time to learn all the tricks at once. I'll be doing a lot of reading over the summer to learn more. My question has to do with margins. I am not sure if I can fix this in DBT, or if it is in the Index Basic D embosser. I seem to get 2 or 3 pages at the top of each document. When I hit the emboss command it pulls a couple pages back, but then it also pushes them back through before it starts embossing. I usually end up with one of my pages tearing right through a line of Braille. If I disconnect the paper from the track and bring it all the way out before I start to emboss, then it will put my first line right at the very top of the page, usually within about 1/4" of the top, but at least it doesn't cut any lines in half with the pages. Can any of you tell me what I'm doing wrong, and how to fix it? Also, can you tell me if there is any kind of resource like this one by the company who makes the Index embosser? I haven't been able to find one, but it would be very helpful I'm sure. Thanks for any assistance you can give. Fred Frontino Access Specialist Mt. San Jacinto College (909) 487-6752 ext 1448
