I think you're looking for the "guidelines for technical material 2014", which
I found in the "UEB" materials on the BANA website. There's a section for
Chemistry. It doesn't cover this precise situation, which seems to be a
description of electron shell occupation numbers for a particular element.
Going by the rest of the technical guidelines, though, I'd say the most compact
formulation that is still correct is: number sign, number, period, number,
period, number, period, number. You could expand it for clarity with an extra
number sign before each number, but I don't think it's necessary, since UEB is
supposed to be optimized for automatic translation, which would use the first
formulation.

Well, I’m not an expert in scientific studies but looking at your inquiry and
applying the knowledge I have on UEB, I’d say your would probably use computer
braille lower case numbers and computer braille symbol for the period the
number sign would be used only once at the beginning of the string of numbers.

Hi,
The UEB for Science gives an example where Electronic structure has the numbers
in print with commas and spaces and replicated in Braille accordingly.
Currently doing a Combined Science paper for Year 10 student and in the print
version it is (one of them) 2.8.8.2 – does the decimal point rule the
translation into Braille or should it be number sign, number, period, number
sign, number, period etc with no spaces? Or Number sign, number, period,
number, period, etc?
