I believe race horses are 3 (thoroughbreds) in the triple crown. However,
the Quarter Horse industry does a two-year old race in New Mexico. It is
worth millions....that's why they do it. If you ever saw the movie
"Casey's Shadow" its about a 2-year old horse that is raced and it ruins
his legs. The winner has to put all his winnings into surgery for the
horse. Very good movie and made people aware of what was going on.
